2019 CPM Teacher Conference!

We host this conference as an investment in the most important educational resource that America has—the classroom teacher. We are honored that you chose to join us. It is our hope that what you saw, heard, did, and learned at this conference will leave you motivated and inspired to continue the pursuit of mathematics with your students and colleagues.

We extend a thank you to those who were willing to present their ideas and strategies with their colleagues. We hope you enjoyed your time in the beautiful San Francisco area and left energized to continue empowering your students. We hope to see you next year!

Consider speaking at the 2020 CPM Teacher Conference: February 22 & 23, 2020
Share your experience and the lessons you have learned teaching students how to reason, solve problems, and communicate mathematically.

Speaker proposals are due by May 15, 2019.

As lead speaker, you will receive one complimentary registration and a conference grant to help defray the cost of the conference. The amount of the conference grant has yet to be determined.

Coaching - For Leaders Who Support Teachers Using CPM; Pre-Conference Session: Registration and Payment is required to attend.
Pre-Conference Session: Registration and Payment is required to attend. This is not part of the conference. A one-day professional learning event for coaches, curriculum specialists, math department chairs, or other teacher support personnel. All leaders who are working with teachers using CPM or other student-centered math programs at the secondary level are welcome. An online community will be created for those who wish to have ongoing conversations.

Writing Small Goals = Big Successes!
In this session you will learn strategies for increasing study team success and individual achievement in your CPM classroom using goal setting. Teach your students to write team goals, behavior goals and learning goals. I will share the methods that have been successful and lead to powerful changes in my classroom as well as what did not work. This session includes findings from a further investigation research study conducted by members of the  CPM Teacher Research Corps.

Inspirations & Ideas: CPM's 8th Grade Intervention Course
Find out how CPM is changing the face of intervention. This session will include information about CPM's new intervention course, Inspirations & Ideas. Session participants will experience several math tasks to gain a better understanding of how the course is designed, learn about the rationale behind the design, and have opportunities to ask questions. Topics include productive struggle, communicating mathematics, the notion that wrong ideas lead to correct ideas, and building relationships. This session will be relevant and enjoyable for all teachers regardless of whether or not they plan to use Inspirations & Ideas in their classrooms.
